As an educator, we can use computer-assisted language learning (CALL) in our language classrooms. We can use CALL for collaborative projects—small group of students working together on a research project. The students can use graphics, charts, and text for their presentations. We can also use CALL for peer-editing of compositions where the students can exchange their essays for peer editing. Also, teachers can easily write their comments on the final drafts through this technology. The third usage of CALL is Email; we can communicate with our students and collaborate with other teachers through emails. Our students can also use emails to write to their pen pals around the world. The fourth way of using CALL is blogging. The students can quickly write their thoughts, interact with others, get feedback, post photos, and so on. Two other ways that teachers can use CALL in our classroom are web-based bulletin board communication and reinforcement of classroom material. We can create an opportunity for our students to communicate in their L2 on the bulletin board discussion sites. Also, we can use the CD-ROM that comes with the text books to allow our students to practice the skills learned in class. What other ways can we use CALL in our classrooms?
