Using the internet to learn English

Post by Fabiana » Fri Feb 27, 2004 9:13 pm

Hi everyone !
I work at an English Institute in Argentina.
I am a system analist and a teacher of english as well.
I have a project in mind and I need help.
I want to introduce internet to learn English. I thought of having the children in the multimedia room for at least fifteen minutes, before entering their classes. There, I want to make them use the internet as an extra material .
Has anyone use it like this before ?
Do you know of any good sites, funny for children to work on ? I do not want those grammar quizzes, without movies, or colourful drawings
Thanks a lot for any help you can give me !!!!!!!!!!

Hi Fabiana!

I have used these free sites succesfully as an additional tool in class.

How old are the children :?:

Thanks a lot, Sian.
Right now I am trying the sites, as I've been at University, far from home and my computer...
The children are between 8 and 17 years old.
What about your experience with computers in the classroom ?
Thanks a lot for your answer !

Hi Fabiana!

I had one "real" online course. The pupils learned to use the computer as a tool to enhance their knowledge of English.
They had superb results in the final exam at the LCCI !
:D
I encourage my pupils in all the other courses to use this site, our free site
http://www.fun2learnmore.de/index.php

and its links.

Best wishes
