English is a bit weird. I've not come across any other European language that uses auxiliary verbs in any way remotely similar to English. I secretly think it's stupid and clumsy, but don't tell anyone I said so!

Well, I`ve never thought about auxilliary verbs that way ^^
To tell you the truth, I think dealing with verbs in English is somewhat easier than dealing with them in Portuguese... At least for me. Hmmm... not FOR ME exactly, cause it`s my first language and I know the communication and even grammatical rules by instinct... but for me as a teacher. I`m not trying to underestimate any other language. It`s just that I would freak out if I had to teach Portuguese for foreign students. Whoa, I really would!
