mixed bath

Post by Itasan » Thu Dec 22, 2005 5:19 am

I think it is very rare in Western countries for a number of people to have a bath together, particularly with different sexes.
It's rare in Japan, too, but in some hot springs it happens. Men only taking a bath together, and women only taking a bath together, that's not rare at all, but both sexes mixed, quite rare, but it exists.
Anyway, what do you call such a phenomenon?
1. mixed bath?
2. communal bath?
3. any other?
Also what do they mean? Same sex only or both?
Thank you.

Mixed bath = both sexes - does not happen in UK exept perhaps when sex act is involved, usually a jacuzi.

communal = usually one sex only. Usually in old fashined football club changing rooms. Mostly showers today.
Communal Showers.
