Lyrics in Joan Baez's Forever Young --Youtube link inside

1. She changes the word 'strong' (foundation) to something else in this live performance. What is it?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtIdc-tJ ... oan%20baez

2. How can I best paraphrase the first line?

a)May God's blessing protect you always,

b)May God's blessing be with you always,

Thanks.
------------------------------------------------------

May God's blessing keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.

May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
And may you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.

May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
And may you have a --------strong---- foundation
When the winds of changes shift.

May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
And may you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

That's easy to hear. "Firm foundation".

"Look after, protect and provide sustenance" would be nearest.

Have people stopped playing Tom's Diner then?
