when is good for children to begin learning English

Post by Lina123 » Sun Nov 19, 2006 5:27 am

Nowadays, there is a phenomenon in China. A lot of parents let their children learn English at very early age. On the weekend, they take their children to some school to learn English. some of the children are only three or four years old. so I do not know when is good for students to begin learning English as a foreign language?
The earlier,the better?

Quite simply, studies have consistently shown, the earlier the better. I started my children's bilingual upbringing at birth.

You can see links to a Bibliography and research on the area on the Dept of Education USA http://www.ncela.gwu.edu/resabout/ecell/biblio/

You can try the Kindersite as well, that is designed for children from age 3/4 http://www.kindersite.org
