This would be a good question to post on the student forums, instead of the teacher forums. The students like to discuss a lot of interesting issues. The teachers usually like to discuss teaching.

Good point.

Nevertheless, as teachers we can still inform our learned friend (and prospective colleague) that "football" is spelt with two l's.

I am not keen on seeing my beautiful language mangled thus.
