A long overdue apology.

Dear Linguists,
I should like to apologize for my comments, or rather for my attitude, when discussing Nixon and the present perfect. If you'll have me back, I'd like to take part in your forum once again.

I, Mac.

No apology really required, Mac - the forums can be a bit unwelcoming sometimes (the red carpet isn't often rolled out), so your "outburst" wasn't totally unwarranted. I for one tried to engage you in discussion on a few threads since then. Anyway, I'm glad you got that off your chest, and welcome back! :P

I don't know what you think you did wrong in the first place, Macavity, but well done anyway.

You are a shining example for a certain gentleman who has been displaying his "cojones" in an embarrassing fashion.

Although I couldn't see what you were on about at the time, I certainly can now. And we need more regular posters.

Thanks. I will try harder to keep up with my threads; I have tended to let things slide a bit there up to now. It's very nice of you to accept me back - one life down!
