The reason a new one has been issued is because the previous one is almost a year old. Skimming the report, this is what I found for Mexico City:

Mexico City (also known as the Federal District): No advisory is in effect.

So theres no need to worry about your fellow TEFLers who live in Mexico City, but your concern for our safety is much appreciated!

Ho hum. Nothing new here. Stay away from the border states and use common sense in big cities.

If ignorance is truly bliss, [this] one must be extremely happy. The expression FY Jack, I'm ok comes to mind.

(emoticon with tongue in cheek)
Oh, what's 70 women (the ones that came forward amongst hundreds perhaps thousands)....
Quote:
...some 70 women told their stories amid tears and despite fear for their lives in Mexico City on January 22. The meeting called by the Nobel Womens Initiative brought an international delegation led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Jody Williams together with Mexican women victims of the violence and women human rights defenders.

The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance - it is the illusion of knowledge. Wink

Skimming because perhaps one was too busy reading Harlequin Romance and wishing.... ?
Has anyone per chance read anything about the real identities of those pulled off buses and murdered? those found in mass graves? the majority of the 35 people dumped a block from my house?
I'm so saddened by some people's total lack of caring as to the magnitude of what's happening in the entire country they've supposedly chosen to call home.

Comments like that do nothing to encourage a constructive discussion of the serious issue of violence in some parts of Mexico.

Either the contentious bickering immediately ceases on the Mexico forums or there will be sanctions of the severe variety.
