Another one this morning (Thursday 22 March) at 10.50. It was 5.4 apparently, but I only felt a small shake, I thought it was a truck passing by!

I don't remember ever having so many aftershocks after a quake here.

Apparently there have been 80 aftershocks associated with this quake:

And, geologists from the UNAM are looking into the possibility that all of this seismic activity portends the creation of a new volcano at the epicenter:

Cool...new volcano.

I assume this isn't a Hollywood event whereby the volcano appears, like, tomorrow.

Not quite Smile. But they think it will be a small one, nothing like the monster that Paricutn turned out to be:

That's really pretty exciting.
This location seems like it would have an impact on the coast if were to form and susbesquently errupt. Like Hawaii comes to Mexico.

New volcano story being debunked now...

http://www.eluniversal.com.mx/notas/837556.html

Ah well...could have been something to add to the tourist route. Southern Mexican states are already expecting 50,000,000 visitors this year (over a usual 20+million yearly) just for the end of the Mayan calendar. This could have fed into that nicely...
