Hello everyone
Can anyone confirm this?
It would make sense (to me at least) for them to recruit at IATEFL and TESOL Arabia and not bother coming to the U.S. anymore. I feel like budgeting could and probably already has become an issue in all of these top tier Gulf universities and I would guess language programs would be hardest hit? |

It may be that SQU didn't have enough openings to warrant a mass recruitment effort outside of Oman. |

I think it is a bit of both. I have heard about budgeting issues at SQU from current instructors there. I also suspect they are not replacing instructors who leave/retire or are not renewed. I think the supply of qualified applicants may more than exceed the demand these days and SQU may stick to recruiting in the region first, and at IATEFL if necessary.
Feeling really grateful that I got there through TESOL Int'l when I did, and got the offer... |
