I see there is an opening posted in Yemen. I is an oil field teaching job, 35 days on, 35 off with a ticket home after each shift.

OK, given all that, I presume the place must be pretty gruesome.

(On the other hand, my Saudi coworkers assure me Yemen is safer than here. They claim the Yemenis are too busy shooting each other to worry much about the Westerners.)

if you'd be out where the oilfields are, yeah, that sucks. They're out in the middle of nowhere. Flat, dry desert. can't get much more desolate. You'd better be getting good money.

In a word, no.

I got distracted by a shiny object. I have a good job here in Jeddah and do not see why I would want to have so much time off. I never even sent in a CV.
