Any (up to date) information on Eastern International University (EIU) in Binh Duong? Very sparse info online. They seem to have an almost permanent ad for teachers on another website.
Thanks - PM me if you prefer. |

I know of some people who recently got offered jobs there. From what I hear the money wasn't very good but the provided accommodation was very nice. This is like third-hand knowledge and I literally know nothing more than that, but you asked for anything. |

Yes I worked there not so long ago. It should have been nice (great students, nice accom, Ok pay) but I found it quite a horrible and traumatizing experience for one reason and one reason only – bullying management. There was a post about it on Dave’s a couple of years back, before I got there, but they somehow got it removed. You can still find it with an online search. Many of the things in that post (which I admit, I ignored) turned out to be true, and I know from speaking to current teachers there that nothing has changed, if anything it’s gotten worse. I don’t know why more people haven’t posted on this thread, because believe me there are a lot out there – maybe for the same reason as me, which is that it is an experience best forgotten. |

I was offered a job there in August 2014. I didn't take the job because I couldn't get my FBI background check in time. It takes about 3 months and EIU wanted me to be in Viet Nam the first week of September.
The pay is about $1900 USD, which is good pay for Viet Nam, I think. You get a free apartment in a recently built city about 1.5/2 hours from Saigon.
I talked to some teachers there. They told me they found the area to be a little boring because it's like an office park.
That's all I know. |

Just thought I would ask a few questions about this university.
Do you know how many hours per week teachers are scheduled to do?
Are there office hours?
Any A/V in the classrooms?
How many students are in each class?
What's the accommodation like?
Does it have fast speed internet?
Do you pay the utilities?
Is there a decent gym on campus or nearby?
The advert states 25 days holiday. Does that mean there's winter/summer camps or does it mean that they only offer 10 month contracts (25 days for winter holiday and then 2 months unpaid holiday during the summer?)
What's Binh Duong like?
Cheers! |
