Back in '98, QU was in the US interviewing and I was asked to interview, but the pay then was significantly less than even the private colleges in Oman!! Shocked I declined the interview. Doha has always been a nice place to live, but considering how dull it was there then, there was no appeal to also getting low pay.

Finally some competition and the fact that they are drowning in petrodollars has meant that pay has become competitive at the same time as Doha's lifestyle has improved. And all has combined to welcome Qatarchic!! Cool

I just loooooove socks and sandals together as a sort of retro-seventies fashion accessory!!!! In fact, to be really cool, what you should do is wear Argyle socks. A sleeveless Argyle sweater really adds panache, if you want to go for the Richard Briers look.

I actually once knew an individual who always wore socks with sandals. As the said individual gave evidence, when you stood a bit too close, of being a little water-shy, the socks with the sandals came to be a blessing in disguise. Rolling Eyes
