I am interested in working in India but think I would prefer teaching in a school to working in a call center. Does anyone know how I would find schools that hire native English speakers? Also, I have a BA in English but no TEFL certificate. Is that something I need to get before I can consider working in India? |

Don't get your hopes up. I don't think you're going to find ANY legitimate schools hiring FTs, particularly those with only a bachelor's degree. There are 1000s of Indian graduates chasing the same jobs, many of who speak and write better English than Americans. The only reason Americans get hired for call center training work is to give the Indian workers enough knowledge of the American accent and "culture" that they can converse with American customers. |

I received some calls from collegs/universities here in Bangalore for lecture positions but the pay was so very low. I wouldn't be able to even live simply on a salary that low.
There are international school, especially in the metros, that pay more and probably have openings...sorry I can't help more than that.
Good luck! |
