Hi Everyone,
I read a on another website that in Costa Rica now that a new government program offers free ESL classes to anyone that wants them and this has decimated the demand for the private language institutes. The blog said that many of them have closed. It also said that you can get a two-year work visa now. It also recommended bringing with you a recent police report (I imagine this is a background check). Is this true? How is the job market in Costa Rica now for ESL teachers. I was planning on moving there in January to look for teaching jobs. I have a M.A. in TESOL.
Does anyone know of any other website that has current information on Costa Rica?

| I haven't heard about that. None of the schools I know of have closed, and they all seem to still be hiring. In fact, I just started working for a new school this week and picked up a ton of hours. More hours available than I can handle. |
