Just got an email last night about a free workshop for ESL teachers. The topic is Soliciting Student Talk. Here are the details:

Benjamin Franklin Library
Liverpool 31, Colonia Juarez
Friday, February 17th
4-5 pm

Presenter is Dr. Michael Rudder, Regional Language Officer for Mexico and Central America

It's free, but you need to reserve with

[email protected]

Just a side note, but I have heard Dr. Rudder speak, he gave a plenary at the MEXTESOL Regional Conference in Guadalajara last year and he is a very good speaker.

Aren't those workshops regular events? I haven't been but this isn't the first one I've heard of out of the library.

Yes, they are kind of irregularly regular and they are always at the library, one every month or so. To get on the mailing list write to

[email protected]

I posted this one because it seemed especially interesting to me, and also that it would have general appeal. Sometimes the workshops are pretty targeted, to a much smaller audience.
