Soon I am finishing a contract in the ROK and going home to wait for the next term to start at my school (I have to take three months off at a time due to their term progression). Three months at home is sure to bore me to tears and drain my savings, so I was thinking about heading out to BKK after a month (possibly less) to look for temporary work and dip my toe in the Thai ESL market. Is this do-able? I don't mind sleeping at a BnB and teaching privately. Something more legit would be great but being there for a limited time I doubt I'll be that lucky.
I have 2 BAs + 120 hour TEFL + 7 years of experience.

Did you actually get the 2nd BA awarded?
Get a 60-day, double entry visa and go for it.
Not likely to land many privates until you have build up a reputation (join the rest of the back-packers) but there is language academy work to be had.
(you are not likely to get a visa or work permit for anything less than a full term so just be aware of the risks).

Nope, just the one diploma. Would it be worth pursuing the second one? From my current situation in Korea it's basically another expensive stamp. However, if there was a chance that that might help me land an international school gig (highly unlikely, eh) I'd do it in a heartbeat. |

Straight off the plane you would be looking at 1/2 what you make in Korea for a 40 hour, 22 class work week regardless of whether you have it or not.
It won't help at most international schools and you are unlikely to get any decent uni work either (and they pay crap as well).
