|
|
I have an account at Bank of China with about 17,000$ in it. I am currently in Thailand and when I go to an ATM, I can only withdraw money that is currently in RMB. My supply of RMB in the account is now near zero and I want to find some way to withdraw my money that is in US Dollars.
I have called Bank of China multiple times and they are telling me that the only way to withdraw my money is to go back to China.
At this point, I have no plans to go back to China in the future. I do have an online bank account but I dont think it is set up to transfer money internationally.
There are Bank of China branches in Thailand, but both times I have gone in (two separate branches) they have told me that I cannot withdraw my money because it is not in RMB. They say if I go back to China, I can withdraw the US Dollars.
This seems totally ridiculous to me. Is there any way for me to withdraw my money without going back to China? There must be some other solution. |
