As a prospecting teacher I've enjoyed working through this forum and am very grateful to all of those who have posted links to job resources. I contacted a few universities through the chinaTEFL website and have been given a conditional offer from China Jiliang University (CJLU)in Hangzhou.
Is anyone familiar with CJLU? Does anyone reading this teach there or know of anyone who teaches or has taught there? Does anyone have any information on this place?
I'd be very grateful for any guidance on this, thanks. |

Senor, Rickster, I appreciate your warning and I'll certainly beware - I take it that Helen Chen has something of a reputation..."chinese dracula"...have either of you ever been bled by her? Should I avoid chinaTEFL then?
The terms of the job I was looking at seemed fair, at least on the surface: 4,500 rmb per month, airfare, paid holidays, etc., to teach 16 hrs per week. But no medical cover. Is it common for a teaching post to come without medical cover? Can it it bought at a reasonable price?
How's Hangzhou on the whole?
thanks for the advice |
