Hello All,
I am a 24 year old drama teacher who qualified with a PGDE last year. I am currently finishing my probationer teaching post in a secondary school in scotland. My sister travelled to Taiwan last year to teach English and it has inspired me to do the same. My father has suggested Singapore as he has business over there and as I am not as brave as my sister he suggested somewhere that was fairly westernised and safe for my first year away. Does anyone know if I would be able to find work in Singapore and do you think it is the best place to take my first year abroad teaching? I have read a number of comments that have been made about Singapore but I would really appreciate some honest down to earth advice.
Thank you |

The Speech and Drama teaching (that I am aware of) is in Primary/Kindy aged kids. The good news is that if that doesn't bother you, it won't bother schools what age your quals are aimed at, so long as you have them.
Try: Julia Gabriel and Lorna Whiston. They both have drama departments and English departments, so you could work in both areas, if that suited you. |
