				| I would point out that all of the salaries at UAEU contain a 4000 dirham 'special monthly allowance' from the Royal Family. This was part of a raise that was given a few years back. This 'allowance' does not count towards end of contract gratuity or ed allowance. As such, your real salary is 17900 with a special allowance of 4000 to take you to 21900. This is common at some places and not a big deal. However, your ed allowance will be 15% of approx. 17900 and your end of service gratuity will be based at the 17900 - not 21900. This does reduce the amount you might be expecting for the kids. Plus, the uni doesn't pay for Kg - only from grade one and up. | |

 I dollar = 3.67310 AED

 "$25,000 with housing not great?"

"Salary: 262,944 Dirhams per annum (21,912 AED per month)
 Housing: Provided by University
 One-time Furniture Allowance: 40,000 AED
Educational Allowance: Max of 15% of salary per year (39,441 AED)
 Relocation Allowance: 2,000 AED"

I could be wrong here - but aren't you confusing $s with Dirhams?

 John
