Have a friend who works there. Pay is extremely high, the highest I've ever heard of for any university in China. English teachers get 12-18k. People with PhDs get 25k+. And the people with PhDs actually teach real subjects. On the flipside I have heard they keep a very close eye on the teachers, pretty much telling you how to run your classes and complaining a lot. They also require the teachers to assign work and mark papers every week, and there are mandatory office hours. My friend said she works 40+ hours a week. Not a bad gig, I suppose -- if you like to work hard. |
