Hi all:
I'm in the running for a ESL teaching job at KAAU in Jeddah (for ladies) and would like to know if they are chopping off heads randomly (in the figurative sense - jobwise), paying on time/pretty much on time and how teacher satisfaction is. I can deal with just about anything other than the craziness of mgt/supervisor dismissing T's en masse for no apparent reason (as I've read happening in another gulf school. And that's why I'm considering Saudi).
I lived in ME a while back for almost ten years and know how things are - traveled all throughout the gulf. Been to Jeddah, heard many Amer expats like it.
Other questions:
(1) best American/Int'l school for elementary-aged children?
(2) housing difficulties ($$$$, compounds for westerners available)
(3) cost of "private" beach clubs/activities for expat families
I appreciate all responses and I know life is difficult for women, etc....but I am trying to fish for answers from those women who are living in Jeddah/working at KAAU ESL now.
Thanks -

You may want to visit http://www.expat-blog.com and post your questions on the Jeddah forum. |
