Dress may be different for Elementary Schools compared to Junior High and High Schools. Where I am, ES and JHS are casual, HS formal. But that also depends on the school.
Wear formal for a few weeks, check out whaty others wear, and change when the warm weather approaches in mid-end May. |

This pretty much sums it up. Also, bear in mind that at the Japanese universities very few teachers wear formal suits, so if you are too formal compared to everyone else, it might send some wrong messages. |
