I haven't actually heard anything bad about IPT but if they offer visas to hourly paids that is a good thing!! Very few schools would give a visa without first putting you on a permanent contract and the salary would be something like 50000-75000 (excluding mcschools - i think they are more like 20000 a month). for that you would be expected to work full time and accommodation would unlikely be included.

No. No. No. This is one of the dodgiest of dodgy dives to wash up on. There are plenty of bad things to hear about them, even on just this forum.
A recent trick of theirs was to recruit new teachers on full-time contracts with benefits, and then, once teacher is securely suckered in, to downgrade the contract to hourly-paid, absent any benefits at all. No guaranteed salary, no set hours, nothing. Yet, you'll be expected to be available for whatever crappy class they might have for you, so any lucrative private work has to play second fiddle to the lunacies of the administrative office. Remember, a flat was never part of the deal. The hourly rate was always poor, so even just making ends meet becomes an issue.
Only a fool, or an innocent would venture into any dealings with this organisation.
Avoid! At all costs! |

avoid that organisation then - but i guess the work permit for part time work would be worth it - if you can get that kind of setup and not be screwed |

You could have your visa cancelled without being told until after the event, they will ask to keep your passport, you'll be lucky if you get the agreed number of hours -a few do, but the majority don't but have to make themselves available and thus must turn down private work.
In short, you'll end up out of pocket and possibly have to leave the country at very short notice. Seen it happen. |

Thanks for the confirmation, Peg Leg Pete. I also have seen too much of what these shysters can do to colleagues and friends. With luck we can spare other unsuspecting souls from a similar fate. |
