Could any computer savvy people please tell me if it is possible to download torrents from an internet connection in Saudi, or are those sites blocked?
Thanks in advance for the info. |

Many of us use a VPN service to bypass blocked sites. |

Thanks for that, but just because you can access the site from a VPN doesn't necessarily mean that you can download torrents...the ports may be blocked....which is why I was asking if anyone has actually done it successfully... |

a VPN is required to access some torrent sites, but once it's in your choice of transmission, it's freeflowing |

PirateBay, IsoHunt, EZTV.it are all available. There is no internet police who will send you e-mails or anything. Some sites are blocked but they are mostly just porn.
My biggest internet beef is that Youtube is locked into safe mode and a whole bunch of videos that are rather tame have been marked as blocked.
Skype works great, online gaming works great. |

[quote="Bill Frawley"]Most of the larger downloading sites like Demonoid and Piratebay don't need a a VPN connection. I've downloaded and filled both 2 and 3 Terrabyte external hard drives without using VPN. It also seems like VPN slows the downloads considerably.
Thanks, Bill. Interesting |

Oman is a different country. It's got its own government and borders and a flag and everything. |

What types of service do I have to look out for? Do some work better than others? What site is recommended to use this?
I know someone advised us to download Tor. Though I find it a bit awkward.. but that's mostly due to my inability in using it! :S |

Mysterious, just do an Internet search on VPN service and choose the one that suits your needs. I use a basic service but then, I don't download torrents. |
