Is all the teaching on one site?
Is your accom near the single site teaching venue?
Unpaid commuting time is a killer when adding up what you get for the time you devote to the job.
One way only air ticket is a worry, also query paid winter holidays.
See 'Job Offer checklist' thread on this forum if search is working. |

20 working hours is a little troublesome. A teaching hour is usually 40-50 minutes but they did not specify, they said working hours. They may not be trying to be clever but I have seen other schools use language like that to try and squeeze a teacher for extra time. |

I remember seeing this school advertise in March, that could mean nobody wants the job or someone accepted then pulled out. It could also mean they have another vacancy.
If you are teaching writing, American history, culture, TOEFL or IELTS training, then you have to factor in preparation and marking time - that alone could easily add another 10 hours of work per week.
Looks like a school preparing students for overseas study, tuition would be pretty high and they're only offering between 7500 - 10,000.
One positive would be the experience of TOEFL or IELTS training would look good on your resume. |

I have visited Wuhu before.
A smaller city with a very nice park around the lake, and a nice walking street with restaurants and shopping.
I was traveling with a friend , and when we arrived at the Wuhu bus station there was a line of about ten taxis waiting for passengers.
My Chinese friend and I walked down the line trying to get a taxi, and all of the drivers refused us. We just gave up and had to walk everywhere. |

When I was teaching high school in Anhui I was paid 9000 a month for 14 classes a week, but was only scheduled for 10 classes a week.
If the contract is for 10 or 12 months then the airfare should be round-trip, not one-way.
The "Free travels in Anhui province twice a year" is probably just field trips with the students.
There should be some sort of health insurance, not just accident insurance. |
