Hi guys, i'll be arriving in HCMC later this year and was wondering if anyone knows of a good guest house to stay preferably within the city centre between 200-300 bucks per month?

Hi shanewarne,
Chi's Cafe (40 Bi Viện, phường Phạm Ngũ Lo, District 1, ph: 08 3920 4874) might fit the bill. I've stayed there before. Good, well-priced restaurant downstairs, fairly quiet, central and the owner (Chi) is lovely. It's up to you but I think it's worth spending a little bit more and going for a large room. |

Bowling Shane,
I have recently arrived in HCMC and I am staying in a guesthouse located in Co Giang, dist 1. It is one of the many guesthouses off Co Bac 171. I will leave out the name as there are plenty of nay sayers on this forum. I looked at several guesthouses all within spitting distance of each other. They all appear to be much of a muchness i.e. double room, air con, Satellite TV, wifi, fridge, separate shower, laundry service all for $250-$300USD, I'm paying $300 and happy with it. Lots of inexpensive places to eat, xe om is cheap to head over to Dist 2, 4 and Don Khoi (the limited places I spend time in, so far) It will serve its purpose until I have more local knowledge.
Best,

Hi Teachers
I have a family so I live in a house. But I have quite a few frieds who live
in the alley 171/22 Co Bac. I have visited them on numerous occassions and its quiet, close to the Pham and at least my frieds rooms are big, everything provided, and I think it includes breakfast.
Anyway much better for a long term place than the Pham.
