Is it possible, or very difficult if you are already overseas (but not yet in China) to get your Z visa in Hong Kong just before going to the place in China you plan to work? (I mean have the medical exam in the previous country, and also have a signed contract from a Chinese school. Thanks |

Depends on the province / city and how much guanxi your school has.
There is a thread discussing this, I think it's called "Has HK stopped issuing Z visas" have a read of that. |

I think it's okay, but the invitation letter must state from which embassy you're getting the Z visa. |

Depends also on the rules of the country where you're applying. Usually if you legally live some place, you can apply there OR your home country. Thailand and HK might also work. |

My wife and I got our Z visas in Hong Kong last September. Our school put Hong Kong on the invitation letter. |
