Thanks to all for your replies. There have been some really good points made here. I'd like to add that in no way, shape, or form would I advocate excessive moderation... well.... you know what I mean. But what we do need is a modicum of balance.
I enjoy irreverence as much as the next person. Hell, I love it. And I do agree, some of the trolls are funny. But things are getting way out of hand.
Hot topics will always generate passionate exchanges. Yet, personal attacks have no place in a forum of this nature. Period. It takes away from the topic itself. The venom on this board is, more often than not, simply unnecessary.

| I can go for the irreverence too Shaman, I am sure we all enjoy it a certain amount. This latest attack on Capergirl is a bit below the belt though, nobody likes to be on the receiving end. The other one with W is beyond a joke. Trolls, we can `out` ourselves. Just post "troll" on their post each time they try it. They can leave, or defend the accusation. I havent seen the reason for Lindsays posts I guess I will have to read into it more. |

Wait, is that me? Have I injected hot beef lately?!? I can't remember!
I do agree with the Shaman, though. I'm sick of these guys who purposely hijack or disrupt other people's threads, or just plain have nothing to add. How come they can write in so many posts, but that guy who called himself "da ji ba" got booted off because somebody figured out what his name meant? Probably, 99% of the readers didn't know what that meant, so it's not like it hurts them, while large numbers of people are being frustrated in attempts to communicate by the trolls. |
