|
|
I will hopefully be moving to Guangzhou in August to start a new job there for a year. My husband (from Iran) is already there and has an f visa. His visa expires in October. Does anyone know if it is possible for an Iranian to extend their F visa in Guangzhou or change it to a Z spouse visa without having to leave Guangzhou? We are trying to find a way to stay together for the year without him having to return to Iran to get a new visa. He can't go to Hong Kong because Iranians need a visa for there too. So far the visa services I have looked at exclude Iranians. Any ideas appreciated. |

There is no such thing as a Z Spouse Visa. |

Maybe I got the name wrong..? Im talking about the visa that a dependent would have attached to my z visa. Ie. If you bring your wife/husband or child over their visa is the 'non working' z visa? |

Completely seperate things.
A 'Z 'visa is one that is required to enter China only.
It is then converted to a residence permit by the sponsoring place of employment.
The only thing that resembles a 'spouse visa' is actually a 'residence permit' for a foreigner who is married to a Chinese national.
Working on it is NOT permitted but local officials tend to turn a blind eye if the husband is working in the wifes home town or city.
This is applied for at the PSB exit & administration office where the wifes Hukou is registered.

maybe you can ask the school to hire your husband as a lecturer.
he can give one class per week in farsi, or perhaps a course on
comparative cultures....
you can offer to pay the visa/rp fees.
or would he still need to leave the country? |

Chodofu.. I think he would have to leave the country for that. So does anyone have any idea what visa a dependent (husband/wife etc) would need to enter and be able to stay with their partner, who is a foreigner entering on a z visa ( and changing to resident permit). There must be something... for example where people have moved their whole family over because of a job...? |

What is your nationality?
Are you a Chinese living in New Zealand or a native New Zealander? |

I'm a native NZer. After doing more research it looks like he needs to get the Z visa 'non working' for entry into China. He needs to be included on my invitation letter as my husband. Unfortunately he can't get that visa in NZ because he's not a permanent resident there so it looks like no matter what he will have to go back to Iran to get a new f visa or the Z non work visa. Just thought about a student visa...will look into the requirements for that. |
