I believe I have found the web site for Agencia Internacional de Consultores en Idiomas. The company is called Lexia Mexico. They are in Colonia Napoles del Benito Juarez.
The web site looks really 'generic' - lots of talk, little substance or specifics.
Does anyone have knowledge or experience with Lexia Mexico in D.F.?
Thanks! |

I'm still hoping to learn something about this school/group.
There have been 79 views of my post, but no responses.
Has anyone ever had any experience with this organization?
They are in D.F., I think I found their website (it looks generic and weak, and they use a different name for their advertising), they post a large number of ads to hire language teachers in several Mexican cities, but no one seems to know anything about them, or has ever worked for them.
Seems like several 'red flags' to me.
Who are these guys?
Thanks! |

Go there and find out. Perhaps no one here knows anything about them. |

That doesn't mean 79 people have viewed it. I viewed it, then Prof replied and I view it again. Then you replied, then he replied. You get the picture.
Red flags are often what they seem--but I guess it depends on how badly you want the job. |

There are hundreds of schools just in Mexico DF alone (just language schools) and new schools open and others close all the time.
There are perhaps a small group of 10, give or take who post on a regular basis on the Mexico forum. Not all are based in el DF and even then, many of us are either set in a situation where we are not on top of the Mexico DF EFL job market 24/7.
I am sure that if somebody had any info to provide they would have done so.
The OP raised several redflags and I think that speaks for itself. |

You are correct, I wrongly assumed that many different people were viewing my post, and I was surprised that no one seemed to be familiar with this company - especially in light of their heavy volume of advertising for teachers. In retrospect, their ad asks for teachers who are available from 8am to 8pm Mon-Fri, and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays. So any currently employed teacher can't fit their schedule. Maybe that's why they need to advertise so much - it must be hard to find good teachers who aren't working at all.

The ideal candidate for a 'job' at a language school is someone who works for fun, is a great teacher and doesn't need the money.
The cheapskate nature of language schools here means that if you have experience and qualifications, there is plenty of room for negotiation. Decide what your rates are, what your availability is and how you're willing to work then offer it to them with a take it or leave it attitude and see what happens. Teaching experience has a lot more bargaining power than you'd imagine plus if you don't negotiate a better rate, the school certainly won't. |

That can be seen with teaching adults on your own as well. Some executives make really good money in Mexico City but do not want to even pay 200 pesos for an English class. |
