I have already accepted that people do MBAs without having done a prior undergraduate degree.
My contention was that I had never heard of anybody being admitted directly into a PhD programme without an undergraduate degree. |

Ditto what twilothunder said.
I know of people who've been admitted into MA programmes of several types without a BA, as I noted in my original response to this post.
A Phd is a different animal; I've never heard of one not requiring an MA in advance. |

In the UK you don't need a masters to do a PhD, you can go straight from bachelors, and you can go straight to masters without an undergrad degree. I would therefore imagine that you could go from masters to PhD without having first taken a bachelors degree.
I have never heard of someone going straight to PhD without having done either a bachelors or a masters. However, if they were self-funding and had sufficient experience to justify it, they could probably find somewhere willing to take them on. |
