Overheard in a middle class house in a middle class street:
Husband "I really don't think that Blair can be re-elected"
Wife "Re-elected? I think he should be assassinated"
No she wasn't joking.
Btw of course I am not calling for the assassination of our beloved leader. On the contrary. In the UK at present conditions are such that, in all probability, such an action would lead only to jingoism and further military entrenchment. On balance the action has to be rejected.
