When i saw the babushkas i thought it was a joke.

i reckon countries have deliberately submitted crap entries as they don't want to host the event! Too expensive!

Eurovision is just so kitsch and only Scandinavia, the Baltics and all ex-Soviet republics take it seriously.

As for Russia's entry, it's just a perfect slice of knowingly novelty pop fun. Nobody can imagine that Russian voters seriously think it is the best music their proud nation has to offer.

Thanks Sasha for introducing this group to me. I only knew Ivan Kupala as the festival on St. John Baptist's Day (June 24th) in Ukraine.

I enjoyed the traditional Russian folk songs with electronic sounds - a unique blend of world music.

Have fun this evening! Here in London, the Russian "grannies" are favourites to win.

Of course the English hate Eurovision because they only like games that they win ! In Scotland we do not HATE Eurovision we are just indifferent to it !
