They have an add back on the international job board. Why put them on the posting if they are basically a rip off recruiter?

I was surprised to see an Aramco job listed for only $2700-3500 USD per month. Most non-Aramco teachers I know (in KSA) started off with a higher salary than that.

That's a poor salary, indicating that the recruiter is taking a huge slice of it, but hey, you do get Free Adventure Trips on Weekends! Is that a euphemism for Bahrain?

They are there because they paid for an ad. That is how the site works.

They pay for an ad, they get an ad. Unless they are an actual scam (get you to pay money to them for a job that doesn't exist), they can advertise. None of the ESL/EFL websites vet the advertisers as to their crappyness as an employer, that is what the discussion board is for... Cool

The contractor (NB NOT the recruiter) is taking at least twice what he is paying the teacher. Contractors are BAD news. (Contractor hires you and pays your wages. He typically bills the company where you work for 2 or 3 times what he pays you. Recruiter just hires you and hands you over to your new Masters. There is a difference.)

Thank you for explaining the difference....but they also share alot of similar characteristics such as...sleazy, sneaky, underhanded, liars, cheats, shady, immoral, two-faced.

recruiters and contractors need to be avoided...JUST SAY NO.... only go on a direct hire with a proper work visa.

You can add 'stupid' to that list of undesirable characteristics. Twice they scheduled appointments with me and never appeared for the Skype interview. They couldn't understand the concept of different time zones. Here is their message to me:

'time do not match woth our times. As you emailed now can we have a quick interview now to get done with all this.ESL director is availble now'

I guess it never occurred to them that I might be at work when I emailed or that I might not be interested in doing a 'quick interview' just to 'get done with all this.' Rolling Eyes
I also feel that contractors are generally the worst employers in this business of education and they should be avoided! The undue stress they cause can make you, 'at odds with the world.'

After providng my contact information and interview availability twice, the "Dr." recruiter in KSA is now asking me for my availability in a different time zone (EST). Should I keep playing along or enough is enough?

The answer to that is ... how desperate are you for a job? Cool
