Just received an email from a recruiter asking me if I would be interested in teaching at this school. I replied that I had worked for this school previously, and that I would never want to return.
Seems as though it is the third time this school year that they are having to search for a replacement for a teacher that has left the school due to poor working conditions. |

This school has contacted me twice in the past few months asking me if I would return to teach there for the next school year.
I admit that I do derive some satisfaction in telling them "Hell no!".
A school that used and abused me thinks that I might want to return ?
How is it possible that some people can be so clueless and arrogant ?

| Why hasn't this old post been scrubbed. H.H. or Zhejiang University or whatever name Helen has called herself has been an benificial advertiser for Dave's for years. Helen only uses legal contracts in China. Every person who works or volunteers signs three contracts. They must sign their name to every clause in the contract.. Helen has ties to the most infuential people in Chinese imigration so she is by far the best recruiter in China |

If the company run by H.H. is so good, then why do they need to do business under so many different names ? Why do they keep changing the name of their business ?
The contract itself may be a legal contract, but H.H. does not follow the contract.
How is that legal ?
How does having "ties to the most infuential people in Chinese immigration"
make her the "best recruiter in China" ?
My experience is that she uses her connections to use and abuse people.
Do you have any personal experience with this company ? |

Never met the lady but worked for Venessa. Very honest hard working woman who treated me well. I only had to wait 3hours at the train station for someone to pick me up. Then that person go lost going to the office.
That person then left the company after a month. Much turnover in the company. That is Chinese staff turnover. Heh but they give you a job right? |

Hi, I heard about this job through my Chinese teacher in the UK, she knows someone directly related to the school, not through an agency. I was going to sign the contract until I came across this post. Does anyone who's been there more recently know if the Insitute still has similar problems?
I have no experience and as am finishing my postgrad course in September, the job would be quite convenient, the contract also seems better than other routes I could take. However, I would like to find out more about the school (and some experienced opinions would help) before I even think about signing anything! |
