I've always gone by the mentality, "Trust everybody. Cut the cards." On the outside, I may look as though I'm trusting them. But I'm always at least a little suspicious of any employer, security, or governing body I deal with.

You have to be on the ball with any employer you work with regardless of location. Yeah, there are more instances of short pays, under the table transactions, and other BS to go through than most countries. Just keep everything in writing and be borderline OCD with organizing and collecting necessary documentation. Having too much is better than having too little.

I guess you could try to talk to former teachers and see what type of questions the school asks during the interview. Make sure that everything is done legally. You could also check out websites like these http://www.goteachabroad.com/ that have reviews of schools and teaching jobs.
