For a start, 18 hours a week at 6000 a month teaching kids is ridiculous. I am assuming you have no proper qualifications and thus are actually looking at this job?
This would be far less than 100 RMB a month. Why would you work for such a low amount, I wonder?
Also, they do not have legal permission to use the Sesame Street trademark or characters. Use that as a grain of salt and you decide if there are other things they might cheat/break the law on.
As an aside, I have already contacted the Sesame Workshop (Children's Television Workshop to old hands) to inform them what I feared most would happen one day. |

Just an update:
I have confirmed that Sesame Street has no partnership nor English training schools in Mainland China, so it's a fakie school that stole the rights of a trademarked not-for-profit children's education organization in order to make money from it. |

18 hours, teaching kids, for 6000.. well actually that doesn't say much, it looks like it sucks, but you missed so many important points we cannot absolutely be sure.
18 hours? no office hours? no split shifts? evenings and nights?
bonuses? airfare reimbursement?
housing provided?
strange contract stipulations?
visa and medical paid for?
This job is very likely to be well underpaid.
However, like already mentioned it has something to do with your unannounced qualifications. |

I work in Xiamen. It's not a cheap place. That salary is on the low side. |

I'm lazy, so here I post.
The school is situated on Wenping Lu. You'll struggle to get a taxi, unless you live on Xiahe Lu..
It's a nice school. Brand new. Taiwan owned. Go for it. I thought of doing it for the summer. But kids? Rich and spoilt.
Your choice! |

There IS a Taiwan Sesame Street English. If this is the one, then it is legit. Except for one interesting fact:
The student fees are not that different in Taiwan than they are in the Mainland, but the pay for foreign teachers completely different.
Is this a fakie copy of the Taiwan Sesame, or a corporate shop, or a franchise? |

I worked for a month at SSE in Xiamen. 10k for August.
Was alright, but wouldn't want to do it full time. |
