I have a small library that I want to ship to Oman when I move there next year. Any restrictions on types of literature? |

I've taken several books through customs and none were seized, including some titles that are banned in other countries like Singapore and KSA.
I think Omanis look more at jacket covers than anything else when they're looking for possible contraband. When in doubt, just remove the jacket cover. |

I can't go anywhere without a bag of books. The best thing is to fill a flight case, and take that on the plane as hand luggage, thus avoiding obliterating your checked-in luggage weight allowance. Beyond that, it is a difficult one. Ideally, I'd like to take my whole (small-ish) library with me wherever I go, but this is simply not practical. At long last, I think it may be time to for me to buy an e-reader, as they're pretty good and relatively inexpensive now. At least with a 3G e-reader, you can never run out of reading material! |
