Driving through Kentucky horse country, breathing the pristine cool grassy air and looking at millions of stars, lying in the grass with a beautiful woman....

New Star Trek movies

Walking the beaches in New England summers; once when I was sitting on a dune, I saw a young woman dancing ballet on the beach, she thought she was alone. One of the most beautiful sights in my life.

Seeing old friends again

Driving through Shanghai at the end of a long day, listening to music and watching the incredible skyline.

Walking down crowded neighborhood streets on Friday evening, living among the Chinese. The atmosphere is so festive, even though it's a normal day. The smells and sights are so varied and colorful!

Fashionable women everywhere.

Memories of Kentucky. Dreams of returning to my own culture, reconnecting with my own familiar places. I'm reminded of a verse by Kentucky poet James Still, it goes something like:

I am of these hills,
And being of these hills,
I find I cannot go beyond them.

Learning a new language, and people getting excited when you start understanding them

My mother getting excited that I'm calling, and bursting into tears.

Picking up developed photos

Snowfall!

A hot shower

Letters from someone I haven't heard from in ages.

Turning music up REALLY loud when I know no one will hear/care.

Hmm...happiness. I've heard of it. I'm sure I'd know it if I saw it. Are we referring to the smug giddiness of a teenager that just got laid, or more along the lines of the quiet contentment we geezers feel when snuggling up with a good book?

ain't no such thing as a bad teenager John, just that some teenagers need that little bit more lovin' ... anyway perhaps i meant 'a giddy teenager"?
