It has been said that a hundred or a hundred & seventy female teachers have been dismissed from Princess Nora University through a company which is in charge of providing the university with contracting with female employees....The wrongful termination has occurred without seeking the agreement of the involved parties, which means that it happened through an agreement between the university and the company.

...the intention is represented through a deed which is incompatible with the principle of employing the male and female citizens.

...If we have been complaining from the unemployment and its social & security & moral consequences; how can a rising university, which systems are supposed to be of very high levels, sacrifice the female citizens for the favor of the female foreigners?!

The truth is MANY of these women were native speakers so this is not true. When I worked at PNU last year there were at least 70 teachers working there that were on their husbands visa. They were not suppose to work anyway so this was not wrongful termination. They just finally started following the law. Yes, they did fire many of the Saudi teachers as well but only a handful had a CELTA or TEFL. They were not qualified to work as ESL teachers. A few of those teachers had just graduated with a degree that had NOTHING to do with education.

This is not something SBC or EdEX wanted to do, IMO. Im sure it had something to do with the MOE. Last year we had more than enough staff. We had teachers at one point in the term that didnt have any classes. They had to come up with something for them to do. They started a tutoring program to help the student and give the teachers some type of work. PNU is now short staffed. They need close to 200 teachers and in a week or two they will need even more because many of the teachers there now have or are about to quit. They have to work overtime without pay and they are going to have up to 60 students in the class rooms.
The working conditions were OK last year. All the problem, well most of them, were with SBC not the school. We only taught four hours a day and didnt have more than 32 in a class. Now they are looking at six hours a day and 60 students for the same pay ........NO WAY

Business morality. Logic. Common sense. Work ethic. When one takes away these words, then one can start to understand why things are done in KSA. Many times, its either money, or lazyness (or both) that factors into the decision making process if theres even a process to begin with. One day, citizens of this country will learn the hard truth. Sometimes I see people working harder NOT to do a job then to just do the job the right way. There are few short-cuts in life.

Now there is a big question... what is best for a student?

A class of 32 with an untrained teacher

or

A class of 60 with a trained teacher

Personally I think either choice is a disaster for both teachers and students.

How about a trained class of 60 with one untrained teacher?

Any luck?

Obviously not one of the options... whereas mine was what seems to be the actual choices.
