I had a medical for my work permit today. I am fairly healthy and I'm sure the x - ray, ECG, blood pressure etc. will come out fine. The thing is, I drank ALOT in the 4 days after I arrived - meeting new people, being excited etc. I am worried that this will effect my liver function results. Has anyone heard of being denied visa because of this. I'm really freaking out about this becaause I really like it here and know it was really stupid. Advice would be appreciated.

If you can make it to the clinic under your own power and you don't have any STDs, you're in.

Yup, the medical is just a over-glorified, more expensive HIV test. My medical said I had a "fatty liver" which probably means i'm gonna die soon, but i'll be workin til I do!

I kinda like getting it because it lets ME know I don't have HIV. If I didn't have to do it for the visa, I probably never would.

Thanks so much for the replies.

I am pretty sure I don't have any STD'S - but inflammed liver or early hep C? I'm talking alot of stupidity here. Do/Can they test on what've had in the last 24 hours? I had about 3 large glasses of wine with dinner before the check. It was only later I read 'please don't drink alcohol or eat before your med

I was told that I have a fatty liver, and almost every FT that I have talked with was also told that they have a fatty liver.

Some sort of conspiracy.... Exclamation Smile

Well, most of the FTs I've seen......fatty everything. No, too flip, but a fatty liver is usually indicative of poor dietary habits and a sedentary lifestyle.
