Just get a job. You are wasting valuable time at this point.
Asian schools hire for April start dates usually, except for international schools, which seem to follow western schedules.
Start learning about hiring schedules for the country(ies) that interest you, and get your resumes (yes, plural) and cover letters (again, plural) in gear. |

You're falling into the trap of being a career student rather than teacher I jest - but I really don't jest Seriously, you have more education than the majority of posters who come here. |

If you're going to get more education, in the form of degrees that is, you should really only be looking at Ph.d.'s at this point. A second master's in something similar will most likely do nothing for you. As was mentioned, don't get stuck in the student/tutor-here-and-there mode. It's o.k. you are most likely smart enough to teach an EFL class abroad No more certs! Apply! |

Thanks, but I am still in school as I have to finish my master's degree. As that tapers off I'll be on the road for job hunting. That's definitely something I need to start researching, so yes. When you say 'plural' you mean copies, or in different formats...? Could you elaborate please? |

Actually you'd be surprised at my age, but you are right on warning me of falling into the trap. I just need to finish up my master's and I'll be done with school. Are you serious? If I have more education than the majority of posters that's sad, because I don't consider it to be too much. It's just a bachelors and a masters, with two certificates. Are people just doing this job with just certificates? |

Thanks, I was looking into getting my Ed.D. (that's the Educational version of a Ph.D.), but as some people have already said, I shouldn't be a career student (many people in my graduate classes have several master's and bachelors, I think that' just insane). In order to get my Ed.D. I'd have to be in school for at least another year or two, and to me it's just not worth it versus the education I already have. Yes I agree having two master's would be a waste, thus why I have decided to get my TESOL cert, but I should finish it before I finish my master's degree so don't think I'll be in school any longer than I have to be. Thanks for the compliment, I just want to be as valuable as possible on the job market. |

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference in terms of the number of courses between the TESOL graduate certificate you're looking into and an MATESOL at the same school? I ask that because at one of the colleges where I live the difference between a graduate certificate in adult education and a master's degree in adult education is just one course. When I suggested earlier a master's in TESOL, I was thinking of you maybe modifying your current degree program and not getting an additional master's |
