Hey everyone. I and my wife are considering moving to Taiwan. I am from the U.S. and if I went over it would presumably be on a teaching contract. She is Italian and would come on a spousal visa. Her hope, ( as she speaks advanced Mandarin as well as fluent English) is that eventually, while in Taiwan, she could find a job that would be willing to sponsor her for a work visa, thereby allowing her to change her spousal visa to a work visa. Has anyone had experience changing a spousal visa to a work visa after finding a job in country? Do you have to leave the country and then come back in order to change the visa or can it all be done in country?
