And, yeah, the jokes get stupid after awhile. Then I was told that, "No he's just a weirdo that likes to get Canadians to say that because of their funny accents."

I take a lot of crap from my Brit and Aussie co-workers about my Canadian accent. I think it's because there are no Americans here for them to pick on, so I'm the most convenient target.
I suppose I could easily have a fun time mocking their accents - but I'm just too darn polite to do that.

Imperial and Metric.
Don't you guys sometimes think that in certain situations, you need to use the 'other' one?
EG - Who on God's Green Earth says 'I am 184 cms tall'? That's just pretentious BS. You'd say I'm six foot!
We, in Britain, weigh ourselves by the stone. I believe there are 14 pounds to a stone (correct me if I'm wrong) therefore I am an ickle over 10 stone. I'd never say I'm 70-80 kgs, or 5 million pounds because our unit of currency is the pound (for how long is up to Toni!) therefore, gets confusing!!!
You'd order a pint of larger or ale and NEVER 746ml or beer. You have a short of wine. Not 125ml glass!
On the metric defence...
Everything is in 10s. It's nice and easy to work stuff out. Decorating, for ie. Easy peezy!
But the next lame-o who refers a distance as kilometres in a French accent is getting stabbed in the EYES!!!

You are correct. There are 14 pounds to 1 stone. |
