feeling a little low at the moment. ive agreed to do another 6 month contract in ME but now just cant seem to build up that enthusiasm to go. feel like im just going to be going through another spate of boredom and stale routine. maybe its time to do something different. have put effort into setting up a small business idea in uk because i had an inkling this might happen .... but ..... its very sloooooow.

anyone else had this feeling of going back to a job abroad but not really wanting to ?

the thought of just writing to them and calling off the return has occurred to me. oh well. maybe its a matter of having been in this business far too long.
regards
basil

Definitely have had that feeling. Every year I tell myself I'm going back to Canada to try to settle down into a sane and normal life, somthing I have yet to taste. However, I usually find that after a few weeks back home I'm desperate to get out. I usually find that a change of venue works wonders--- don't go ack to your old job if it makes you feel so bored and oppressed. After two years in bizarre and sometimes claustrophobic central Anatolia I'll be movin' on up to Istanbul, a move that seems to make all the difference in the world, motivation-wise.

If your gut tells you not to go, don't go. Dont waste your life in places you dont need to be or want to be.

My Gawd, yes. After all, it's work. Smile That's why they pay us.

Cheer up. It won't be long 'til you'll be over the hump and looking forward to your next vacation.

I agree with yaramaz, life is too short to be unhappy. Go someplace else.

Yes, I've had that feeling quite a bit recently.

I agree that if you're really not happy you should leave, but I'd also suggest that you wait a bit (until the unhappy emotions have died down and you can think clearly--not that I'm implying that you're not!!) and try to decide what exactly is bothering you. Just don't make a hasty decision either way.

I agree with denise.

I had to make a similar decision quite recently and I went away for the weekend to do it. Getting away from the town where I live, and the people I share my life with gave me some much needed perspective. I spent the whole weekend thinking (after having thought a lot about it at home) and could put everything into the right kind of order, because of the distance.

Now I've decided, got the new job in the new place, and couldn't be happier. Very Happy

Oh, and having your own business usually is quite slow at the start, but with hard work and perserverance, I've found it to be incredibly rewarding.

Best of luck,
Lozwich.

I remember that feeling. Another 6 months in the ME. It makes leaving for good all the better though
