I have a friend working in Oman who needs her certificates re-attested. She has emailed the Canadian Embassy ([email protected]) but has had no reply. Are there any other contact emails? Thanks.

Closed for the holidays ? My experience is that Embassies take local holidays AND the holidays from back home too.

This seems a bizarre question... why would one have certificates "re-attested"? I have to assume that she is changing employers/countries?

It's apparently a new requirement in Oman when you change employers.....

OK... no... when I went to a second employer in Oman, I suggested that my docs should already be on file with the Ministry. But they still asked for them to be re-done because I was out of the country in between. Of course, that makes no sense, but by that time I was used to the lack of logic involved here. Especially since when I got there, they never asked for them... and I never bothered to remind them.

Your friend will probably have to pay some visa company in Canada to re-do them for her.
