I stumbled upon the Wangfujing Foreign Languages Bookstore in Beijing and it's a good resource for EFL books. Lots of Cambridge materials but other publishers, also, along with resources such as learner dictionaries and thesauri. There were lots of other books in English as well as many different languages but this would be the go-to place if you needed a textbook for teaching a specific subject. I got a book on teaching young learners (aka brats) that might make my side work easier. I spent a couple of hours poking around and barely scratched the surface of what's available.
Google it as I really have no idea how to tell you how to get there other than it's on a walking street full of expensive shops for tourists.

It's on the main Wangfujing walking street. Coming from the wangfujing subway station, it's probably about a 15 minute walk. It is close to the end with the food carts on the street, which is the end opposite the wangfujing subway stop. Actually, a very easy place to find if you are familiar with the area.
Do take note that it is NOT the main wangfujing bookstore. It is a separate store with a sign that says "Foreign Language Bookstore". |
